Privacy Policy

This policy explains how FindADoctor processes personal and health-related information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Effective date: 13 June 2026

Information we collect

We collect account and contact details, location, medical aid information, booking details, consent records, doctor credentials, practice information, and technical information needed to operate and secure the platform. Health-related booking information is treated as special personal information.

How we use information

  • To create accounts, verify healthcare professionals, facilitate bookings, and send service notifications.
  • To prevent fraud, protect users, moderate reviews, maintain records, and comply with legal duties.
  • To improve platform reliability and support, using aggregated or de-identified information where appropriate.

Sharing and operators

Booking information is shared with the selected healthcare professional or practice. We may use carefully selected service providers acting as operators for hosting, communications, security, and support. We do not sell personal or health information.

Retention and security

We retain information only as long as reasonably required for the stated purpose, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your POPIA rights

You may request access to or correction of your information, object to certain processing, request deletion where legally permitted, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. You may also complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator.
